HAND TIED VS. MACHINE WEFTS
There are 2 types of Wefts: Hand-Tied Wefts & Machine Wefts
The term “Hand Tied” does NOT refer to a method, way of application, or foundation.
The term “Hand Tied” refers to how the hair is manufactured. Hand Tied Wefts are made by hand as individual hairs are attached to a string or track. These wefts are fragile rows that must be handled delicately. These rows cannot be cut to the shape of the head, as they will unravel and fall apart Because of how thin these rows are, multiple rows must be stacked horizontally on top of each other to achieve desired density per row.
Machine Wefts are Wefts that are as the name implies sewn together by machine. This creates durability for the weft. These wefts can be cut to the shape of the head with zero shed and DO NOT require any folding or super glue. Machine wefts often come pre-stacked and stitched making them thicker while lying flatter to the head. Specifically, the Volume wefts comes triple stacked, with the rows stacked vertically to eliminate bulk.
